What is left is mostly clones reusing closed sites' names to inherit their search traffic. The advertising is the business model, which is why pop-unders and forced redirects are the norm rather than the exception.
Then there is the reliability problem. Unauthorized feeds get taken down mid-game, and it happens most often during the game with the biggest audience, which is the one you actually wanted to watch.
Selected games reach free-to-air broadcasters in various countries, and the league runs a no-cost tier with replays and some live content. Neither gives you a full season for nothing.
Distributing an unauthorized re-broadcast is clearly illegal. Viewing sits in a grey area that varies by country, and enforcement targets operators rather than viewers, though ISP-level blocking of these domains is now routine in the UK, Italy, Spain and Australia.
League Pass if you are out of market, a cancellable domestic subscription if your team's games are on a national broadcaster, or a licensed operator stream if you were going to fund an account anyway.
