Streameast was the largest illegal sports streaming network in the world before it was dismantled in September 2025. The clones that followed are not the same operation.

Streameast ran a network of unauthorized domains covering every major sport, basketball included, and became the largest operation of its kind by audience.
Scale was the strategy. Dozens of mirror domains meant a block on one address barely dented traffic, and the brand accumulated enormous search demand as a result.
That scale is also what made it a target. The network drew 1.6 billion visits in a single year, a figure that made it the priority case for the industry's anti-piracy coalition.
US Homeland Security Investigations seized Streameast-linked domains in August 2024, and the network resumed operating afterwards, per TorrentFreak.
The decisive action came a year later. On 3 September 2025 the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment, working with Egyptian authorities, announced the shutdown of the network, 80 unauthorized domains and 1.6 billion visits in the preceding year, per USA Today and The New York Times.
Two men were subsequently set to stand trial in Egypt over the operation. Sites using the Streameast name since then are unaffiliated clones trading on the residual search demand.
The sticker price is zero. The real cost shows up in four places, and every one of them is worse during a game you care about.
The legal routes below cost money. They also start when you press play and are still running at the final buzzer.
Streameast covered everything, so the legal replacement depends on which sport you were actually there for. For basketball, these are the routes.
| League | Legal route |
|---|---|
| NBA | League Pass out of market, national rights holders in market, licensed operator streams by country. |
| WNBA | WNBA League Pass plus national broadcasters, May to October. |
| NCAA Division I | Conference networks in season, national partners for the tournament. |
| EuroLeague | EuroLeague TV plus your domestic rights holder. |
Rights change every season and vary by country. The how to watch guide carries the country-by-country map and is reviewed monthly.
On basketballstreams.com the fixtures, live scores, standings, head-to-head records and form data across 36 leagues are free and need no account. The live video sits with a licensed operator, either Bet365 or Stake depending on which one holds a licence where you are, and unlocking it takes a funded account rather than a subscription.
The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment announced the shutdown on 3 September 2025, working with Egyptian authorities, after a year-long investigation. An earlier US domain seizure in August 2024 had not stopped it.
The network ran around 80 unauthorized domains and drew 1.6 billion visits in the year before it was dismantled, which made it the largest illegal sports streaming platform in the world.
No. They are unaffiliated operators reusing a name with high residual search demand, which is the standard pattern after any large closure in this category.
There is no single service covering every league, which was Streameast's whole appeal. League Pass plus your national rights holder covers the NBA, and our league hubs list the route for each competition we track.
Streaming with a licensed operator means opening a betting account. Deposit only what you can afford to lose and set a deposit limit before your first deposit. Responsible gaming controls and helplines.
